Park Lake Adare Welcomes Australia Zoo: A Commitment to Koala Conservation

At Park Lake Adare, we’re excited to partner with Australia Zoo in supporting the care of their koalas. As part of our commitment to environmental conservation, we provide Australia Zoo with essential gum tree branches, specifically small gum tree suckers, which are a vital food source for the koalas at the Zoo and their renowned Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. This collaboration not only nourishes the koalas but also reflects our ongoing efforts to protect and nurture our natural surroundings for future generations.

Koala food trees, primarily Eucalyptus and Corymbia species, are a vital part of the ecosystem, providing essential nutrition for koalas. At Park Lake Adare, these trees are carefully retained both within private conservation areas and on individual lots. Our Conservation Commitment

Park Lake Adare is home to an abundance of trees and wildlife that we are deeply committed to preserving. Our ongoing efforts to protect this environment are designed to ensure that it remains a thriving natural ecosystem, providing not only a sanctuary for wildlife but also a beautiful recreational space for the local community to enjoy. Our dedication to environmental conservation is reflected in the various measures we have implemented and continue to plan for the future. Here’s a glimpse of our achievements and goals:

  • Koala Management Plan: Our comprehensive Koala Management Plan includes measures such as fauna-friendly fencing, guidelines for dog ownership, swimming pool safety, outdoor lighting considerations, vehicle speed limits, and the retention of koala food trees within the lots.
  • Vegetation Management Plan: Our Vegetation Management Plan outlines the steps taken to manage and protect vegetation across the site, including the maintenance of native plant species, control of invasive species, and strategies to enhance the ecological health of the estate. This plan ensures that vegetation is preserved and properly managed to support local wildlife and biodiversity.
  • 4,000 Native Plants Successfully Planted: We have planted thousands of native plants throughout the estate, enhancing the local habitat and contributing to the overall biodiversity of the area.
  • 44 Hectares of Protected Conservation Reserves: A significant portion of Park Lake Adare has been designated as protected conservation reserves, ensuring that these areas remain undisturbed and continue to provide a safe haven for wildlife.

As we continue to develop Park Lake Adare, our primary focus remains on ensuring the conservation of the estate’s natural beauty and wildlife. We are proud of our efforts to create an environment where both the local community and the natural world can thrive together. By working closely with Australia Zoo and other conservation partners, we are making a positive impact on the environment and contributing to the long-term survival of koalas and other native species.
